1Delivery Status Unknown: Notices that were not returned to the Division by the voter, nor returned by the U.S.P.S. as “undeliverable” and can therefore not be purged or removed during annual List Maintenance.

2Records Purged: Voters who are put into an “Inactive” status in the Division’s registration system, but they do not appear on any active voter list or precinct register.

3Inactive Records Removed: Records that are completely removed from the Division’s registration system in accordance with law.

*In 1998, a state statute was enacted to allow the Division to perform List Maintenance in accordance with the National Voter Registration Act. No list maintenance was performed between 1994 and 1999.

**In late 1989, the “delete” code was initiated to remove inactive voters completely, after no activity in the past two General Elections. This code was first used in 1990. No voters were removed in 1992 because they were removed in 1990 and 1991.
