Official Election Pamphlet

The Official Election Pamphlet (OEP) is published for the General Election. The pamphlet contains information about candidates and issues appearing on the ballot. Candidates and recognized political parties must pay to appear in the OEP. The information submitted by candidates will be posted to the Election Pamphlets page and the Candidates page prior to a general election at which the candidate’s name appears on the ballot.

Before completing and submitting biographical and position statements:

The submission requirements for Federal or State Candidates, Judicial Retention Candidates, and Recognized Political Parties are outlined in the columns below. For more information or assistance, please contact the Division of Elections, Director’s Office at (907) 465-4611.

Federal or State Candidates

  • Your submission must be received by the Division of Elections no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2024, for the November 5, 2024, General Election.

  • If you are a candidate for federal office, a candidate for State Senate in Districts C, R, S or T or a candidate for State Representative in House Districts 05 or 36 – 40 and would like your statement translated into appropriate Alaska Native Languages, you must submit your materials no later than 5:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024.

Judicial Retention Candidates

  • Your submission must be received by the Division of Elections no later than 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024 for the November 5, 2024, General Election.

  • If you are a judicial retention candidate for Supreme Court, Court of Appeals or judicial districts 2, 3 or 4 and would like your statement translated into appropriate Alaska Native Languages, you must submit your materials no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2024.

Recognized Political Parties

  • Your submission must be received by the Division of Elections no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2024, for the November 5, 2024, General Election.

  • You may file a maximum of two pages of materials. Each page must be clearly identified with the words “paid for by” followed by the name of the political party, name of the state chairperson of the party and the name of the party treasurer.

Presidential or Vice-Presidential Candidates

  • Your submission must be received by the Division of Elections no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2024, for the November 5, 2024, General Election.

  • If you are a candidate for the Presidential or Vice-Presidental Office and would like your statement translated into appropriate Alaska Native Languages, you must submit your materials no later than 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

The OEP is prepared following the guidelines outlined in Alaska Statutes 15.58.010 – 15.58.090 and Title 6 Alaska Administrative Code 25.690 and 25.700.
