September 28, 2021 is National Voter Registration Day September 28, 2021September 28, 2021 (JUNEAU, AK) – Today, September 28, 2021, Americans are celebrating National Voter Registration Day and the Division of Elections is excited to be part of the national effort to register voters ahead of critical state and local elections in 2021 and elections in 2022. National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan event that seeks to increase civic participation by encouraging Americans to register to vote and to check their voter registration status to make sure everything is correct. “People move or get married and change their name and forget to update their voter registration. Check your registration status with any Division of Elections office or by using My Voter Information. I also encourage 18-year-olds and those who have recently become a United States citizen to register to vote. We want to make sure Alaskans are #VoteReady,” said Lieutenant Governor, Kevin Meyer. Here’s how you can register to vote or make changes to your voter registration:Online: Visit https://voterregistration.alaska.gov/. It’s quick and easy! You only need your current Alaska driver’s license or state ID. Paper Registration Form: The form can be found at https://www.elections.alaska.gov/Core/voterregistration.php. You can send your signed completed form by mail, fax, or email attachment to a Regional Elections Office with a copy of either your current driver’s license, state ID, passport, or birth certificate. In Person: Visit a Division of Elections Office. You can also do so at City or Borough Clerk’s Offices, Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Offices, Public Assistance Agencies, Vocational Rehabilitation Offices, Participating Public Libraries, Participating Tribal Government Offices, Legislative Information Offices, United States Armed Forces Voter Assistance Offices, Political Party Offices, and with any active Voter Registrar.
