“I Voted” Sticker and Pamphlet Cover Student Artwork’s Top Four Primary Election Starts March 8, 2022March 8, 2022 (JUNEAU, AK) – The Division of Elections received over 160 artwork entries from students all over Alaska. The public can start voting for their favorites in the Primary Election today. The voting period ends in two weeks on March 22, 2022. After that, the top four vote-getters from each of the five regions will advance to the Ranked Choice Voting General Election, where voters can rank their favorites just like they will in the 2022 General Election. Voters can choose one candidate in each region using our mock election app now available directly on our website’s homepage – https://elections.alaska.gov/ . As in past mock elections, duplicate voting attempts are not included in the results. Due to the minimal number of Official Election Pamphlet cover entries we received, there will only be a general election for cover designs, and winners will be featured on one of the five OEP covers. General elections begin on March 29, 2022. “We are ecstatic about the number of entries, but it sure was difficult to narrow them down because they were all so charming and creative. It was especially challenging in Region IV because they sent over 60 entries! Region IV students had the highest participation and I commend them for their considerable number of submissions, and engagement.” said Division Director Gail Fenumiai. “I Voted” sticker artwork submissions come from students ages 5 – 13 and OEP submissions from ages 14 – 18. All entries, including those that did not win, will be featured in a special section of the 2022 OEPs. The contest’s voting process and mock election app are part of the division’s efforts to educate voters about how the new Nonpartisan Top Four Primary and Ranked Choice Voting General Elections work. ### Division of Elections Contact: Tiffany Montemayor GOV.elec.media@alaska.gov or (907) 465-4611
