Division Launches Tool for Voters to Track Their Absentee Ballot April 28, 2022 April 28, 2022 (JUNEAU, AK) – Alaska voters can now sign up to receive notifications about their absentee mail ballot. The Division of Elections is offering this free service through BallotTrax, a secure and convenient ballot tracking system. Voters can sign up at https://alaskaballottrax.com to receive notifications by text message, email, or phone letting them know when they should be receiving their ballot, when their ballot has been received by the division, and if their ballot was undeliverable. “The Special Primary Election is our first statewide by mail election. More voters than ever before will be voting by mail and this added notification system will strengthen voter’s confidence in knowing we received their ballot. BallotTrax allows the division to be more transparent and provide proactive communication to voters simply and quickly using a voter’s preferred method of communication.” Said Division Director, Gail Fenumiai. The only information a voter needs to sign up for notifications is their first and last name, year of birth, and zip code. Then voters can choose how they want to be contacted and what time of day to receive notifications. Ballots were sent out yesterday, April 27, voters who signed up for BallotTrax in a municipal election may have already received a notification that their ballot is on the way to them. Postage is pre-paid and we encourage voters to vote their ballot as soon as they get it and mail it back as soon as they vote. To help ensure their ballot is counted voters MUST: Vote for ONLY ONE candidate Provide an identifier on the return envelope Sign the return envelope Have a witness sign the return envelope Make sure it is postmarked on or before June 11, Election Day. Voters can call 907-270-2700 or email akabsentee@alaska.gov if they have any questions or are unsure how to proceed with BallotTrax. ### Division of Elections Contact: Tiffany Montemayor GOV.elec.media@alaska.gov or (907) 465-4611
