All Registered Voters Are Getting New Voter ID Cards March 4, 2022March 2, 2022 (JUNEAU, AK) – The Division of Elections will send all registered voters a new Voter ID card in late spring. Due to the 2022 redistricting process, voter’s district and precincts may have changed. The division urges voters to review their voter information prior to the mailer to ensure they receive their new Voter ID in the mail with their current information. If a voter’s information needs updating, they should update it immediately or no later than May 1 to receive a Voter ID card in this mailer, that accurately reflects their new house district. “A voter’s information may need to be updated because they’ve moved or changed their name. Not only does a Voter ID card tell a voter what precinct they need to vote in but it’s one of the accepted forms of identification voters are required to provide to vote at the polling place. Updating their registration information before we send new cards is helpful, so voters know their new house district and candidates,” said Division Director, Gail Fenumiai. If voters don’t take this opportunity to check their registration, all is not lost. The registration deadline for the August 16, 2022 primary election is July 17, 2022. Voters can review their registration information by visiting https://myvoterinformation.alaska.gov/. Voters can update their registration information online by visiting https://voterregistration.alaska.gov/. A valid Alaska Driver’s License or State ID is required for this option. Voters can also call 907-465-4611 or 866-952-8683 to review and their information. An identifier such as Date of Birth, Alaska Driver’s License #, or Social Security # is required for this option. ### Division of Elections Contact: Tiffany Montemayor GOV.elec.media@alaska.gov or (907) 465-4611
