2022 Regional Educational Attendance Area (REAA) Candidate Filing
Candidate Qualification Information
To file for a vacant REAA seat, you must be registered to vote and reside within the boundaries of the REAA district.
In addition, when an REAA nominates candidates by section, you must also reside within the boundaries of the section.
To determine your REAA district, locate the name of your town on our Towns in REAA Districts list. Select the REAA district link next to your town for information on available seats.
Each term for office is for three years unless you are filing for a vacant seat. When the division receives notification of a resignation or vacancy on or before July 15, another person is appointed by the board to serve until the next regular REAA election. That seat will be on the ballot of the REAA election held that year. You may file as a candidate for this seat and complete the term of office.
If you would like to withdraw as an REAA candidate this must be received at least 48 days prior to the REAA election. You may use the Notice of Withdrawal or create your own letter.
