Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB)

What is the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot (FWAB)?

The FWAB is an alternative ballot for overseas and uniformed service voters who have applied for a state ballot to be sent to them but have not received the ballot. The FWAB is a blank ballot that allows you to write in your choices.

Are you eligible to vote the FWAB?

If all three of the below statements are true, you are eligible to use the FWAB. You may link to the Overseas Vote Foundation or the Federal Voting Assistance Program to obtain the FWAB.

  • I am an overseas voter or an active military member, merchant marine, eligible spouse or dependent.
  • I sent in a registration/ballot request to receive a by-mail ballot by my state deadline.
  • My by-mail ballot has not yet arrived.
