Voting in a Presidential Election

Primary Election

Alaska does not conduct a presidential primary. Candidates for President and Vice President are only on Alaska's General Election ballot.

For information on the 2016 presidential caucuses please contact the individual political parties.

General Election

Alaska law allows for same day voter registration for the purpose of voting for President and Vice President of the United States. You may vote a questioned ballot at any polling place, vote an in-person absentee ballot at an absentee voting location or vote a by-mail ballot or by electronic transmission.
