Ballot Measures Pamphlets Primary Elections

Every household in Alaska will receive a Ballot Measure Pamphlet 22 days before a statewide election only IF there is a ballot measure on the ballot. Since there is not a ballot measure on the August 16, 2016 Primary ballot, no pamphlet will be sent out. An Official Election Pamphlet will be sent out for the General Election with candidate profiles and information.

The Ballot Measures Pamphlet (BMP) is prepared to assist Alaska voters in making informed choices regarding ballot measures prior to Election Day. The BMP is sent to each registered voter's household and is available online. In addition, the Talking Book Center makes the BMP available in an audio version. The Talking Book Center can be contacted at (907)465-1315 or toll-free (in-state only) at 888-820-4525, by email at or you may visit their website at for additional information.

The BMP contains the following information:

  • how to vote, voting locations, absentee voting and voter rights; and ballot measures appearing on the primary election ballot.
