Initiative Petition Status
Once an initiative petition application is filed with the Lieutenant Governor's office, the application is processed. If the application is certified, the initiative committee members will be provided booklets to circulate for signatures from qualified registered voters. If an application is denied, it goes no further in the process. There are four different categories in which the Division of Elections maintains the status of initiative petitions.
