Polling Place Workers

Polling Place Worker Positions and Pay

The polling place workers conduct the election at the precinct. The election board positions and their rate of pay per hour are:

  • Chairperson - $10.00
  • Co-Chairperson - $10.00
  • Election Worker - $9.50
  • Language Assistance Worker (where required) - $9.50
  • Youth Vote Ambassador - $9.50

Chairperson/Co-Chairperson Responsibilities

In addition to the general responsibilities of the election board workers, the chairperson and/or co-chairperson will:

  • recruit election board workers;
  • post notices;
  • receive ballots and supplies;
  • arrange for access into the polling place; and
  • assign jobs to each worker.

Election Board Worker Responsibilities

  • open and set up the polling place equipment and supplies;
  • assist voters with the voting process, including questioned and special needs voting;
  • close the polls; and
  • complete necessary documents and deliver voted ballots and election materials as directed.
