Polling Place Worker Positions and Pay
The polling place workers conduct the election at the precinct. The election board positions and their rate of pay per hour are:
- Chairperson - $10.00
- Co-Chairperson - $10.00
- Election Worker - $9.50
- Language Assistance Worker (where required) - $9.50
- Youth Vote Ambassador - $9.50
Chairperson/Co-Chairperson Responsibilities
In addition to the general responsibilities of the election board workers, the chairperson and/or co-chairperson will:
- recruit election board workers;
- post notices;
- receive ballots and supplies;
- arrange for access into the polling place; and
- assign jobs to each worker.
Election Board Worker Responsibilities
- open and set up the polling place equipment and supplies;
- assist voters with the voting process, including questioned and special needs voting;
- close the polls; and
- complete necessary documents and deliver voted ballots and election materials as directed.
