Off-road mountain biking, volleyball, softball, cooking, reading, fishing, gardening, radio control model aircraft. I also attend Anchorage Friends Meeting, and I brag about my children a lot.
My goal is to follow the law, to be compassionate and fair
in its application, to stress the individual accountability
of every citizen, and the strict accountability of government
to our citizens.
I try to use my position to help people solve problems rather than to encourage the battle of litigation. I have a special interest in the very difficult area of domestic relations. I truly believe my problem-solving approach has helped many families through bad times.
Like most Alaskans, I am a little skeptical of people with authority. Public servants should be held to a high standard. But, we don't expect our laws to be applied as a machine would do it (remember photo radar?). I try to use good common sense along with the principles of law in carrying out the duties entrusted to me.
