STATEMENT:

The education of our children is our most pressing obligation. Quality education is not cheap. The Legislature must provide funding that will guarantee quality education. The Legislature must develop a firm and long-range formula to share the funding of education with local communities. Then our school boards can engage in long-term planning as to school construction, class size, higher minimum standard, hiring of qualified teachers and staff, etc.

The Prudhoe Bay to Valdez natural gas pipeline will revitalize every sector of our state--from new jobs to better highways. I will support any reasonable community program that will accelerate this project.

Both the Marine Highway System and our roads in District 35 need additional maintenance. The Richardson Highway, in particular the stretch between Delta and Glennallen, needs immediate attention.

I will use all reasonable efforts to bring jobs and economic development to the Greater Delta area through the Greely Project.

Cutbacks in the Department of Fish and Game have hurt the commercial fishing industry. I will support efforts in the legislature to stabilize the staffing levels.

I pledge to represent all constituents of District 35 as a representative in the legislative majority. I will dedicate myself to your needs and concerns. I ask for your advice, your support and your vote November 3. Thank You.
