STATEMENT:

As the elected Representative to the Alaska State House of Representatives it has been my pleasure to serve the people of Kodiak Island for the last four years.

Since my election in 1994 I have served as the chairman of the very important Fisheries Committee. I feel that Kodiak and the fishing industry in general have benefited from my chairmanship.

I'm proud of my work towards funding the following projects: new dam for Port Lions, new F&G vessel Stimson, boat harbors in Larsen Bay and Ouzinkie and the deferred maintenance money for the Kodiak boat harbor. I am now in a position to have greater influence on what happens in our legislature. It is my full intention to have a seat on the powerful finance committee this next session.

I have had fun and enjoyed my work these last four years and would like to go back to Juneau as your Representative for the next two years. I feel that I have worked hard and have placed myself in the position of being a very effective legislator for Kodiak Island. I would very much appreciate your vote this election.

As a moderately conservative Republican I understand the need for a sound education for our children, the needs of our seniors, and I'm concerned about the overall quality of life we live here in Alaska, especially Kodiak.

Remember to get out and vote. Thank You.
