Revised August 19, 1996
There are four recognized political parties in the State of Alaska. A recognized political party is an organized group of voters that represents a political program and that nominated a candidate for Governor who received at least three (3) percent of the total votes cast at the preceding General Election for Governor. Recognized political parties are allowed to purchase a page in the Official Election Pamphlet. This year, each of the four recognized political parties in Alaska purchased pages in the 1996 Official Election Pamphlet.
