I am grateful for the support of many individuals and organizations and am proud that Col. Norman Vaughan, former governor Bill Sheffield and the State Troopers union, the Public Safety Employees Association, have chosen to endorse me.
As Alaskans, we deserve a legislature committed to
solving problems and helping us achieve our potential,
not one that plays politics with Alaska's future. Our
representatives must demonstrate intelligence, fairness,
and civility, and have priorities that match Alaska's
needs. The way to understand and meet those needs is
to listen and learn, then take responsive, responsible,
and decisive leadership.
My goals as a legislator are to enhance personal freedom, prosperity, and safety, especially with respect to three major issues affecting us today: the economy, education, and crime. Working together, we can reach these goals.
Jobs -- good work that pays fair wages
Economic diversification -- create new business opportunities and add value to natural resources
Budget gap -- produce better government at lower cost
Fundamentals -- provide students the tools to learn, live, and succeed
Technology -- make the most of computers
Lifelong learning -- education for all Alaskans, young and old
Prevention -- stop crime before it starts
Policing -- create a visible, effective police presence
Prosecuting -- swift and certain justice
Prisons -- isolate, deter, and rehabilitate criminals
I have enjoyed meeting many of the residents of District 13 in my door-to-door campaign and hope that I have earned your vote.
