Primary and General Election Candidates
Candidates who wish to file for a statewide or district-wide office must submit the appropriate forms indicated for the corresponding office to the Division of Elections. A candidate may file as a party candidate, a “no-party” or nominating petition candidate or as a write-in candidate.
Judges seeking retention in office must submit a Declaration of Candidacy for Retention for the corresponding office to the Division of Elections.
Candidates for President and Vice President may be nominated by a national committee of a political party or may file as a limited political party or independent candidate. Presidential candidates must follow the procedures outlined in AS 15.30.010 – AS 15.30.100.
