Campaigning
Candidates cannot begin campaigning until 18 months prior to Election Day. For questions please contact Alaska Public Offices Commission (APOC) at (907) 276-4176.

How do I file for office?
If you are filing as a candidate representing a recognized political party (Alaska Democrat, Alaska Libertarian, Alaska Republican, and Alaskan Independence), file a Declaration of Candidacy form and a Financial Disclosure Statement.

Candidates representing political groups that are not recognized in Alaska file a nominating petition with a specified number of signatures of registered voters, an acceptance of nomination form, and a Financial Disclosure Statement.

All candidates must file for candidacy by June 1 for the 2010 elections. AS 15.25.040(b).
