Absentee Voting Options

Are you unable to vote at your precinct on Election Day? If so, Alaska law provides for the following ways to vote absentee:

  • Absentee/Early In Person Voting – beginning 15 days before Election Day


  • Voting By Mail. – The deadline to receive your by-mail application is 10 days prior to each Election Day.


  • Voting By Fax – beginning 15 days before Election Day


  • Special Needs Voting - for voters who are unable to go to the polls due to age, illness or disability – beginning 15 days before Election Day


  • Local city and borough elections are conducted by your city or borough clerk's office. For absentee voting options in regards to this type of election, you must contact your city or borough clerk's office.
