
The Alaska Judicial Council is charged under Alaska Statutes with evaluating judges who are up for retention election, and making recommendations to the voters. The First Judicial District encompasses all of House Districts 1 through 5.

The Second Judicial District encompasses all of House District 37, and a portion of House Districts 36 and 38. The Second Judicial District includes Precincts 553 - Fortuna Ledge, 635 - Pilot Station, and 655 - Russian Mission from House District 36. The Second Judicial District also includes all of House District 38, except for Precincts 156 - Mekoryuk, 158 - Newtok, 159 - Nightmute, 206 - Toksook Bay, and 207 - Tununak.
No Judges have Filed for Retention in the Second Judicial District
The Third Judicial District encompasses all of House Districts 6-28 and 40, and a portion of House Districts 35, 36, and 39. The Third Judicial District also includes all of House District 35, except for Precincts 010 - Big Delta and 040 - Delta Junction. It includes Precincts 537 - Christochina, 543 - Copper Center, 613 - Mestasta, and 695 - Tyonek from House District 36. Finally, the Third Judicial District includes all of House District 39, except for the following Precincts: 233 - Aleknagik, 256 - Clark's Point, 257 - Dillingham, 263 - Ekwok, 277 - Koliganik, 295 - Manokotak, 310 - New Stuyahok, and 330 - Togiak.
