Dear Alaskans,
I am pleased to provide you with the Official Election Pamphlet for the September 14
special advisory vote election. Now is a critical time for the State of Alaska. We face
difficult decisions regarding our financial future. I hope the information in this pamphlet
will help you make an informed decision when you go to the polls.
Please vote. If you will be out of state September 14 or if getting to the polls is hard for
you, you may vote absentee. That process begins August 30. We've placed information explaining
absentee voting in this voter guide. You may also call your regional elections office for
voting assistance or review the
Division of Elections' Internet homepage for information.
Voting is both a privilege and a responsibility. Your vote is your voice. I encourage you to
use it.
