Election Day is Tuesday, September 14, 1999

In a special session of the Alaska State Legislature last May, two acts were passed relating to the Alaska Permanent Fund and authorizing an advisory vote on a long-term financial plan for the state.

This election pamphlet contains the following information to help you - the voter - prepare for the special election:

Letter of introduction about the election written by the Lt. Governor
Voter-rights/assistance-while-voting information to help voters with special needs
The language that will appear on the ballot
A neutral summary of the ballot language prepared by the Legislative Affairs Agency
The full text of House Bill 1001 which called for the September 14 election and spelled out the language to appear on the ballot
A statement in support of the ballot measure written by supporters
A statement in opposition of the ballot measure written by opponents
The text of Senate Concurrent Resolution 102 passed by the legislature at the same time it approved House Bill 1001
Absentee voting information described for voters who will not go to the polls September 14, including a by-mail ballot application
Polling place information to help you locate the precinct where you vote
