Candidate Filing Deadline
The candidate filing deadline for the 2012 primary election is 5:00pm on June 1st. The division will be certifying candidates using the Amended Proclamation of Redistricting as outlined in the May 10, 2012 Order of the Alaska Supreme Court.
Voter ID Cards
The division will be suspending the printing of voter ID cards beginning May 2012. All voters will receive a new voter ID card in July 2012. If you have a question regarding your voter registration status, you may check it online at: Voter Registration Status or contact any of the division's offices.
Election Workers
The division is looking for election workers to help with the August 28, 2012 primary election and the November 6, 2012 general election. If you are interested in working, please contact our office or visit our Election worker information page
Redistricting
On April 5, 2012, the Alaska Redistricting Board adopted an Amended Proclamation of Redistricting for the state’s house and senate districts. The Division of Elections is updating the precinct boundaries that were originally drawn for the June 13, 2011 Proclamation of Redistricting to conform to the amended redistricting plan. The updated precinct designations and boundaries will be posted on the division’s website when they are final.
